Extra Credit
In 2006, Sen. Menendez received extra credit for offering a $60 million amendment allocated toward helping establish a UN peacekeeping force in the region. The money was part of a $94.5 billion emergency spending bill to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and aid to Gulf Coast hurricane victims.
He received extra credit for co-sponsoring S. Res. 531 and the Clinton Amendment, both in 2006.
Additional Information
Sen. Menendez signed on to Senator Clinton's February 8, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.
He was not yet a senator during the three votes covered.
