Rep. Janice Schakowsky has been on a congressional visit to Darfur.

Additional Information
Rep. Schakowsky signed on to Rep. Higgin’s February 12, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.
On September 25, 2006 Rep. Schakowsky signed a letter to Sudanese President al-Bashir criticizing comments he made before the United Nations claiming that reports on the deaths and refugees in Darfur were "fictitious". Rep. Schakowsky was joined by 87 other members of Congress in this effort.
