Extra Credit
The Genocide Intervention Network awarded extra-credit points for certain extraordinary actions that were not included in the grading system.

These actions demonstrated a unique commitment to protecting lives in Darfur.
There were three ways in which members could receive extra credit:
1. Introducing important amendments to increase funding for humanitarian or security operations in Darfur.
2. Exemplary leadership to end the genocide. This includes leadership of the Sudan Caucus.
3. Action to influence the Bush Administration. Members have taken steps to pressure the administration to use its power to take more action to end the genocide in Darfur.
If a member does receive extra credit, the reasons are noted in his or her profile on this site.
Although we recognize the importance of other extra-legislative activities, such as opinion articles, speeches, protests and letters to President Bush, these are not be counted as extra credit. These are, however, noted in each member’s profile.
A few members of Congress demonstrated truly extraordinary leadership, and these legislators are highlighted as our champions of Darfur.
